Expert review: Titan Counter-Balanced Smith Machine Code T938
The Smith Machine is a cross between free weight exercises and isolation machines. The Smith Titan T938, with its advanced industrial engineering, is one of the most complete models on the market, which is vital for both beginners (to learn proper form) and professionals (for heavy and safe workouts).
Counter-Balance System Many inexpensive Smith machines have heavy bars (around 20 kg) that are heavy for some users or certain movements. But in the T938 model, as indicated by the cable and pulley system on top of the machine, an internal weight is hidden in the machine’s columns that counteracts the weight of the bar. This feature makes the bar movement very smooth and allows the athlete to start loading from exactly zero (or very low) weight. This feature is great for explosive movements and rehabilitation.
Guaranteed Safety (Safety First) In heavy exercises like squats or bench presses, the fear of getting stuck under the weight hinders progress. The T938 has multiple locking teeth all the way around. The athlete can lock the bar at any height with a simple wrist rotation (about 15 degrees). In addition, there are spring-loaded safety steps at the bottom of the machine that you can adjust to the desired height so that the bar does not drop below that point.
The vertical and linear movement of the barbell bar in this machine moves on linear bushings or industrial bearings that virtually eliminate friction. The movement angle in the T938 model is designed to be completely vertical (90 degrees), which is the most standard angle for most classic bodybuilding movements.
The structure and accessories of the device’s chassis are made of sturdy steel profiles with a gray oven paint (a characteristic of the T900 series), which provides high stability and minimizes the need for screwing to the ground. On both sides of the machine, there are 6 steel prongs to hold the weight plates to maintain order in the gym and prevent the athlete from having to move around the gym to change weights.
